Getting Started with Magazine Blocks

Magazine Blocks is a WordPress plugin designed to build a WordPress site using blocks. It helps you create the posts or page content using the Blocks.

Simply, you can create all types of content using the Magazine Blocks plugin, which does not require other third-party page builder plugins.

Step-by-Step Installation of Magazine Blocks #

Hosted on WordPress.org, the process of installing the plugin is the same as any other WordPress plugin.

  1. From your WordPress Dashboard Menu, go to Plugins > Add New.
  2. In the search field on the top right, type Magazine Blocks.
  3. From the search result, click the Install Now button next to the plugin from the Magazine Blocks author.

4. Once installed, click the Activate button to activate the plugin on your site.

Enable Required Blocks for your Website #

Magazine Blocks offers a library of pre-built blocks for designing your website. You can use all the available blocks once you have installed and activated the plugin. To explore and enable blocks, navigate to Magazine Blocks > Blocks. This opens the Blocks Management interface, listing all available free and premium (Pro) blocks.

Toggle the switch next to each block:

  • Blue (Enabled): The block is active and available in the Gutenberg editor.
  • Gray (Disabled): The block is hidden from the editor.

Enable only the blocks you need to keep your editor clutter-free. Meanwhile, the premium blocks will only work if you’ve activated your premium license for Magazine Blocks

Add Blocks to Post or Page #

  1. Create a new post/page or edit an existing one.
  2. Click the + (Add Block) button in the editor.

3. Search for your desired block under the “Magazine Blocks” category or browse the list.
4. Click the block to add it to your content.

Once a block is added, use the editor’s right-hand panel to customize it. Under the Block tab, you can find setting options as:

  • General: To configure core content, layout, and functionality.
  • Style: To customize visual appearance for seamless integration with your site’s design.
  • Advanced: Fine-tune technical behavior and responsiveness from here.

Key Tips for Users: #

  1. Not All Settings Are Universal: A Slider block will have different Style options than a News Ticker block.
  2. Experiment Freely: Changes are non-destructive—use the undo/redo arrows to revert.
